Turkey. ADIYAMAN ÜNIVERSITESI 2006Adıyaman University is a state university, established in 2006 in Adıyaman province, Turkey.  It has 11 Faculties, 4 High Schools, 5 Vocational Schools, 3 Institutes, 1 Music Conservatory and 3 Research Centres. It employs over 750 academics and 450 administrative personnel.


In 2013-2014 academic year 17.500 students have been registered to attend different licence and post graduate programmes.

The university has a number of students with disability who attend different faculties and also staff working at different sections. Therefore, there is a disability unit in the institutions that is responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing and monitoring services for needs of the disabled. This unit also follows up the needs of individuals with disabilities whether student or staff in terms of improving their quality of life and increasing their work productivity.
In addition, the university has a number of departments such as Faculty of Education and Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences that provide teaching for the disabled and carry out research that aim to meet physical, hearing, visual etc. needs of the disabled.

The University also engages in the following activities:
- Trying to develop performance, basic knowledge and skills of disabled students with special needs.
- Planning and working on to improve qualification of disabled students with special needs  to the European Union standards.
- Trying to develop basic knowledge and technology skills of disabled students with special needs.
-Trying to identify international examples of good practices and transferred to the country.
-Trying to improve national and international experiences of the disabled.
-Trying to improve employment and employability skills of the disabled.
